The cultural collaboration of Austria and Hungary ways far back into the past, which is also the cultural legacy of Central Europe. The common past and tradition can be found in music and other arts. The 2009 Haydn year has been held with the co-operation of these two country’s, and it proved that on the fields of music, the limits cease and nations can bond
Quoting Csák Ference:
"Thanks to Joseph Haydn’s fantastic cultural personality, the legacy of the common culture can be seen, and it combines the two countries through the world of music."
The Vienna Konservatorium is proud to have students those who currently represent forty-four different nations. The foreign students have a very important role in the institution’s art-life, because our philosophy is the activity of arts and pedagogics beyond the Austrian borders. Our goals achieved on this field makes us delve into our connections and innovation of cultural communications with the students of Hungary
The Vienna Konservatorium offers the Hungarian students a modern way of teaching that came through over the years, really contributing the development of the Pannonian areas. With our trusted partner, the Egressy Béni School of Music in Budapest, we would like to reveal our joint cultures to the integrated Central Europe.
Our goal is to empower the learning process beyond the two country’s borders, creating bigger and wider space of effects, to have more information shared amongst us, and the development of consciousness of the cultural life of the two countries; the further strengthening of the cross-connections that existed over the centuries - Austria and Hungary - between the two twin-cities, Vienna and Budapest.
Beyond maintaining the cross-connections we also want to strengthen it by training generations of music pedagogists together
